I usually dismiss dreams; however, when left with me all day, as vividly as it happened when I was asleep, I stop and pay attention.
In my dream, I was decluttering, an activity that I enjoy. (Another is shopping, which makes decluttering necessary. It’s a ridiculous cycle.) As I was sorting through a pile of stuff, tossing out the unnecessary, I found a pair of glasses I had never seen before. . I would try the glasses on and find they fit my exact prescription, bifocals and all. I sorted pile after pile, and each revealed a new pair of glasses.
I shouldn’t have been surprised by the dream because I tried to eliminate the distractions that kept me from praying. The day before my dream, I had decided to fast for a short time from social media and TV (but not newspapers!). My dream was the encouragement I needed.
I believe that when distractions are removed and I draw closer to God through prayer and meditation, my vision becomes sharper, I see things more clearly, and the things God wants me to focus on appear. One of the cries of my heart is to always see life through the eyes of God, with his lenses.
When I see God everywhere, I will pray for everything. When I pray for everything, I see God everywhere. This is a glorious cycle.
