NGO organizes free eye screening for residents of Tema Newtown

The Hilton Foundation International, an Accra-based non-governmental organization (NGO), hosted a free eye screening exercise for the Mama Happy Life Enhancement Foundation (MAHLEF), an NGO that focuses on teenage mothers and children in Tema Newtown .

The exercise, which attracted 165 adult community members and 51 children, was conducted by Light Optical located at the Tema highway roundabout.

Principal Optician Mr. Gbetodeme Dickson Senyo revealed that participants were given reading glasses while others were given medication.

He said four people would need surgery on their eyes, saying “two people have been diagnosed with mature cataracts in both eyes and two others with mature pterygium in both eyes.”

Mr. Christian Hilton, the founder of the NGO, told the Ghanaian News Agency in an interview that the NGO was created five years ago to show love and offer hope to children. and the community.

The Hilton Foundation, Mr. Hilton said, was founded to discover and help orphans and the less privileged in society to maximize their talents in music and other vocations.

He believed that the little things done to make children smile would have a huge impact on their lives.

He noted that the exercise was aimed at creating a platform for orphans, as he believed that the lives of less privileged children could be affected when they were given the same opportunities as rich children.

The Hilton Foundation, said Mr. Hilton, was founded to discover and help orphans and the less privileged in society to maximize their giving to music and vocation.

Reverend Mrs. Georgina Happy Crentsil, founder of MAHLEF, congratulated the NGO for helping to improve the health conditions of teenage mothers, children and community members.

She also, on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude to the NGO and Light Optical for their services rendered and appealed for financial support for participants who may need surgery to undergo one with success.
