Torrington Police are searching for the man who robbed a bank

TORRINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) – Torrington police are looking for a man who robbed a bank on Wednesday.

Police say the robbery took place at the Litchfield Bancorp at 1320 East Main Street at 10:11 a.m.

The man walked into the bank, showed a handgun, and ordered the teller to put the money back in the cash drawer.

According to police, the handgun was small and silver in color.

Police described the suspect as a white male in his 60s or 70s.

The man was wearing a Green Bay Packers baseball cap, denim jacket, dark pants and rubber gloves. The man also covered his face with a cloth-style mask and wore dark glasses.

According to security video footage, the man first parked his black colored 2008-2012 Cadillac DTS/Deville in a nearby Dunkin.

Police say the man walked slowly from the Dunkin to the bank and returned to his car after the robbery.

The man then drove west on East Main Street.

The police did not disclose the amount of money stolen.
