What says “football” more than reading footnotes?

Alright, alright, alright, look who’s there? Bryan and Gumbi wake up from our off-season slumber for another edition of the Cult of Colt podcast and unlike the Commanders owner, we’re here and we’re ready to talk about the past. It’s been another banner week in Burgundy and Gold land – you know the type, where there’s a lot going on, but that has little to do with what our podcast is supposed to be, you know… the soccer.

Instead, we’re forced to dive deep into the most recent House Oversight Committee testimony implicating the NFL Comish himself and 29 pages of must-read evidence detailing Dan Snyder’s work.

While the Ginger Hammer was forced to serve as a highly paid meat shield for his bosses (the owners), he let us know that he was very disappointed and concerned and would look very seriously at the labor issues of the commanders but… also that there is not much to see here, so move on.

On the other hand, we’ve done the homework and read the memo so you don’t have to (but honestly, if you’re here reading, you probably should?) the footnotes and all. Much of what we found represents a very official public account of what we most already knew thanks to dogged reporting by The Washington Post over the past two years and very brave vocalizations from those affected by the toxic work environment overseen by Dan Snyder since 1999. That said, there were unquestionably new tidbits that have come to light that paint a fuller picture of the full extent of crap in the hallways of the team facility and the team’s private jet.

Really, who among us hasn’t put together a 100-page slideshow on our list of public enemies? Totally normal stuff, huh?

So put on your “Sell the Team Dan” shirt, adjust your reading glasses, grab a stiff glass and brace yourself… We get dirty in this episode of The Cult of Colt.
